Trading Across Borders
Trading across Borders measures the documents, time, and cost (excluding tariffs) associated with exporting and importing a standardized cargo of goods by sea transport. In the Philippines, this cargo refers to electrical machinery. The work team was able to realize its target of reducing the documents needed to export from 7 to 5 and the documents needed to import from 8 to 6. The number of days, however, has not changed for export. For import, the time was reduced from 14 days to 12 days.
